Jewish National (Zionist) Ideologies Today

The overall breakdown of ideology as a guiding light in Israel has been much lamented as Labor, Likud and the National Religious Party all search for a "renewal" in commitment by their adherents. Despite the highly charged political and security situation in Israel many youth have become apathetic while being attracted to the world of materialism, leaving the idealistic world of the parents behind.
Today Zionist renewal is taking place, either through a reinterpretation of the old ideals or by a re-identification with Jewish nationalism using today's reconstructed understandings of community and the relationship of the Jewish People to the Land of Israel. Are "secular" and "religious" losing their meaning? And is today's connection to the Land of Israel not so agricultural but rather more ecological? We will try to project the ramifications for tomorrow's Israel and the Jewish People worldwide.
